1.The content of the article

The article I choose is ‘ An internet of old things’. The whole article described that all objects have historical meaning given by people, and these meanings connect various objects into a huge network.

At the same time, it shows the author’s criticism that people are more focused on the development of new things and ignore the historical significance.

This article listed the project named ‘remember me’, each second-hand commodity have their different QR codes with the help of ‘tales of things’.

People can scan the code to understand the story behind each commodity when they buy it.

2.My thoughts

In my opinion, this practice gives emotional color to objects. In this process, history and memory add value to all goods. This “memory economy” makes consumers more willing to pay for the ordinary goods.

This article makes me think more about the meaning of my design in daily project. The birth of a product or a project not only depends on its future development trend, but also fully understand the story behind the design idea, so that the final output can make people feel moved. Sometimes, most consumers are paying for the story behind the brand and the product concept.

In a word, Emotional and warm design is the focus of future design trends.
