1. Brief
First of all, by reading the brief, I learned that this project requires us to record ourselves and our surrounding lives, obtain data from it and visualize it, and at the same time show the process of intermediate research and the drawing of the sketch.
2. Mindmap & sketches
First I drew the mindmap.
I extracted two topics from my life.
The first topic is to record my allergic process, recall the causes of allergies and the methods to treat allergies, and summarize them; for this topic, I plan to design an illustration.
The second topic is about my backpack. I recorded the things in my backpack when I was traveling and how often I used them.
Because the idea of the second topic is not mature enough and the expression is not clear enough, the first topic is selected for in-depth recording
3. Data record
Below are the progress of my allergies treatment every day I recorded. I started allergic from May 21st and ended on June 4th. The photos can clearly show the mood and allergy index, and I manually recorded the daily medications and the dose.
4. Final sketches
Based on the above records, I started to design information visualization. Below are my sketches.
There are two forms of expression.
①The first is to use illustration design to describe the objective factors in the whole process of allergies, to record the causes of allergies and the methods to treat and avoid allergies;
②The second form of expression is to use the form of poster design to express subjectively the changes in mood during the whole process of allergy. I re-extracted the images involved in the illustration design and redesigned it to make my poster show allergy-related the elements of.
After completing the sketch, I communicated the sketch with my classmates, and found that some of the data in the illustration design was not detailed enough and changed it in time; at the same time, I accepted the suggestion and planned to add texture elements to the designed picture to make the whole picture more textured.
